Kenneth Duane Hamblin, age 86, of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas.
He was born in Paris, Texas to parents Henry Kenneth Hamblin and Mildred Mangrum Hamblin. After attending public schools in San Angelo, he graduated from San Angelo College - now Angelo State University. During college he worked at the Texas Theater. Duane taught English and History for 36 years in the San Angelo Public Schools, 18 years at Lee Jr. (now Lone Star Middle School) and 18 years at Edison Jr. High School.
After retiring from teaching, he enjoyed traveling and attending the Methodist Conferences. He was a member of Sierra Vista Methodist Church, the Downtown Lions Club, Kendall Art Club, and various other organizations. He especially loved all types of history, art, music, flowers, and antique cars. Everyone Duane met said he was a kind and good man - a true gentleman.
A celebration of Duane's life will be January 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Kenneth and Mildred Mangrum Hamblin; and a baby sister, Ann Aline Hamblin.
He is survived by a few cousins and a host of friends and neighbors that he considered his family.
