Robert F. Werley, Jr. (Bob), a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1947, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Hattie Werley.
Bob graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1965, and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he began his career as an aircraft mechanic. After 23 years of distinguished service, Bob retired with honors, having served his country with dedication and pride.
In 1968, Bob married Dolly, and together they raised two children. Throughout his life, Bob had a deep love for trains, classic cars, and indulging in anything sweet. He was an avid supporter of the veteran community and was always proud of his military service.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Werley Sr. and Hattie Heller Werley; his sister, Bonnie Wisniewski; and his brother, Lowell Werley.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolly Werley of San Angelo, Texas; his son, Robert F. Werley III (Butch) and wife Angi of Pensacola, FL; his daughter, Penny Wheeler and husband Brian of San Angelo, TX; his sister, Lynne Crietz and husband Ron of Tamaqua, PA; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Werley of Del Rio, TX, Bridget Wheeler, Brian Cole Wheeler, Skyler Werley, and Xackary Werley, all of San Angelo, TX, and Pensacola, FL. Bob is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Nissa Terrazas, Izaiah Navarro, Addison Werley-Renfro, Hayden Graham, and Kayln Morris.
A memorial service to honor Bob’s life will be held on January 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel in San Angelo, Texas. Full military honors will be presented in recognition of his service.
