Reynaldo "Rey" Ramos, affectionately known as Rey or Rey-Rey, was born on February 27, 1991, in San Angelo, TX. He was raised in Blanket, TX, attended Angelo State University, and eventually found a home in Dallas, TX. Rey passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 33.
Rey was a vibrant soul, passionate about music—especially Adele—his painting, and the love he had for his siblings and his many nieces and nephews. He loved fireworks, lightning storms, and sweet tea. Rey always had a craving for sweets, particularly his mom Lisa's delicious peach cobbler and chocolate milk. His ability to lend a helping hand or share a laugh made an indelible impact on everyone he met. Rey’s warmth and kindness were a gift to all who knew him.
A proud "funcle," Rey loved being known as the fun uncle and adored all of his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Pauline Garcia; his father, Eddie Hernandez; and his grandparents, Tomasa and Mauro Carrillo.
Rey is survived by his brothers, Milton Castilleja; Eddie Hernandez and fiancée Erika Perez; and Georgio Martinez and partner Alejandra Gamez. He is also survived by his sisters, Erica Hernandez and husband Anthony Hernandez; Stacey Hernandez and wife Victoria Hernandez; Georgina Martinez; and Amiah Lorena. Additionally, Rey is survived by his foster parents, Steve and Lisa Schulze; foster brother Stevie Schulze and wife Julie; foster sister Jessica Campbell and husband Robert Campbell; and countless friends, Tios, Tias, and cousins who all adored and cherished him.
A viewing will be held on September 27, 2024, at 6-8 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX. A celebration of Rey's life will take place on September 28, 2024, at 3 PM at the same location. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring the extraordinary life he led.
We will miss Rey’s vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories through his brothers and sisters.
