Carol June Lenhart went to be with her beloved husband Richard on August 30, 2024 at the age of 78. Carol was born on June 27, 1946 in Everett, MA, to Willis and Lorena (Bedard) DeLano. Carol was the third of four children, older brother Willis III, older sister Laurie, and younger sister Patricia.
With her father being in the military, they traveled all over the world. She would graduate in 1964 from Valdosta High School in Georgia. It was at Moody AFB in Valdosta, GA that Carol found the love of her life Richard while working at the laundromat after school where she would wash his and other service men’s clothes. He would win her heart, and they got married at the Moody AFB Baptist Church on June 20, 1964. Carol traveled with Richard while he served his country in the Air Force living in Hawaii, New Mexico, and England before retiring in San Angelo.
Carol had three children, Cindy, Richard, and Rose-Ann. She was involved with her children’s activities as well as working full time and maintaining a loving home. Carol loved making puzzles and watching game shows. She also enjoyed being a grandma to her four grandchildren, and GiGi Maw to her eight great grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her brother Willis DeLano and wife Lana, sister Laurie. Her children Cindy Thomas and boyfriend Johnny Benavidez, son Richard Lenhart II, and Rose-Ann Fuson, all of San Angelo. Grandchildren Rosie Fuson of San Angelo, Andrew Thomas and wife Kelsi of Trent, Tx, Lacy Lenhart and boyfriend Mark Gonzales of San Angelo, and Trey Thomas and wife Talya of Abilene, TX. She is also survived by her 8 great grandchildren. Oh, and we cannot forget her precious Patches!
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Richard, her sister Patricia, as well as her great granddaughter Ryver Jo.
Services for Carol will be Saturday September 7 @ 11am at First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Brad Griffin officiating. Thank you Dr. Hughston and Dr. Cheruku for all the care you gave our mother thru the years, as well as to Interim Hospice for the care and compassion that was given to our mother. Carol will forever be missed by her family and friends.
