On September 16, 1927, God blessed Jessie and Robert Anderson with a beautiful baby girl they named Mayme.
Mayme attended school in Hardwood, Texas. She accepted God at an early age as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Baptist faith.
She was a faithful, dedicated member of St. Luke's Baptist Church were she served on the usher board and the kitchen committee. Mayme loved her pastor Charles Barns and her church family.
She moved to Eldorado, Texas in 1949, where she remained until her death.
She married William Smith in 1953 and to this union two daughters were born, Patricia Ann Butler and Rosie Coley. She married N.A (Slim) Green in 1980.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father Jessie and Robert Anderson, two granddaughters Cidnee Koleen Smith and Dawnetta Marie Coley. One great-great-granddaughter Lauryn Barrette.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters Patricia Ann Butler and Rose Coley, both of Caldwell, Texas, four grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service is planned at First Baptist Church of Eldorado at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th with graveside service to follow at Eldorado Cemetery.
