Beatriz Vasquez González was born on April 9, 1933 to Jesús Vasquez and Ernestina Flores Vasquez. She was the oldest of 7 siblings. Beatriz was married to her beloved husband José Carlos González for 71 years. She was the mother of Juanita González Gonzales and Beatriz González Castañeda. She had 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Beatriz was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She worked in housekeeping in Carlsbad, TX and as a full-time caretaker to many. She was a lovable, and hard working woman. She was talented in crafts, cooking and baking. Her passion was to feed those who she loved or make them quilts, blankets or clothes. She enjoyed reading, needlework, watching telenovelas and western movies, studying her Bible or praying for others. She was a breast cancer survivor. Being the oldest she sacrificed going to school at the age of 9 to help raise her siblings and work to provide for her family in Del Rio, TX. Coming from humble beginnings she was so giving of herself and all she had. We could always count on grandma for the best recipes, stories and making us smile and feel loved.
While we will always miss her we can only imagine how excited she is to be reunited with her parents, siblings, son-in-law, grandchildren and friends who have been waiting for her in Heaven. May we never forget or abandon her legacy and hopes for all of us, cherishing her memories and wisdom and strive to live a life she would be proud of until we see her again. This isn't goodbye but see you later.
A vigil for Beatriz will be held at 7PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 10 AM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. Beatriz will be laid to rest in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens following the Mass.
