It is with heartfelt sadness that we lost a wonderful soul to cancer. Marcia passed peacefully with her brother James by her side. She was born in Odessa, Texas on March 26, 1958, and had a great early upbringing. She attended Gonzales Elementary, Nimitz Junior High and graduated from Permian High School in 1976. She loved being a Pepette and enjoyed the football team going all the way to State. Marcia was a graduate of Texas Tech University and got her B.S. in Education. She was also a member of the sorority Delta Gamma. After graduation, Marcia moved back to Odessa and taught early elementary for Ector County ISD. She then moved on to Big Spring ISD. She ended up in San Angelo where her whole family had gathered and was a teacher for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at San Jacinto Elementary where she had a fantastic team to work with. Marcia retired and was able to enjoy her family and friends, which included her forever FUR BABIES. She loved gardening and her home was always an ongoing project of redoing. Marcia was preceded in death by her beloved parents Claude and Martha Bennett and her baby brother, Robert “Ted” Bennett. She is survived by her beloved brother James Bennett. She also had her lifelong Phyllis Burroughs from San Angelo, her two friends from childhood, Patty Edwards Kinnaird from Odessa and Lane Etheredge Carson from Georgetown. Added to this were her many friends and family. The Graveside Service will be at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2024. In lieu of flowers, she wishes that donations be made to your favorite animal shelter in your hometown, the American Cancer Society, or a donation of your choice. Please reach out to Harper Funeral Home and any cards will be forwarded to her brother James.
She will forever be in our hearts!
