Mrs. Keel was born May 8,1950 in San Angelo to CJ and Joyce Ford. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Joe David Keel, on June 12, 1970 in San Angelo. They were married for 54 years.
To know Wynell was to love her. She loved to love on people. Her kids and grandkids were her pride and joy. She had the biggest servant's heart and loved to serve at her church, PaulAnn Church. She has impacted the lives of many people over the years with her caring and giving heart. She was known for her handmade cards that she made and sent to everyone she knew for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.
Wynell has worked many clerical and bookkeeping jobs over the years. She spent many years working for San Angelo ISD in various administrative roles and on several different school campuses. She retired from SAISD in 2005 and briefly came out of retirement to take an office position at PaulAnn Church for a few years before retiring a second time. After that, she continued to be very involved and volunteered regularly at the church.
Her life was a living example of one of her many favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Wynell left a legacy of love, compassion, and service. She made a statement right after we received the diagnosis that was really powerful. She said, "Live your life today as if you're not gonna be here tomorrow." That is exactly how she lived her life. She also was known to say, "Remember to 'SHINE FOR JESUS' no matter where you are and what the circumstance is."
Wynell is survived by her husband, Joe D. Keel of the home; four children, Candy Sinar and husband Paul of Bellevue, Iowa, Tammy Harper and husband Ronald of Christoval, Kelli Gandy and husband Aaron of San Angelo, and Cody Keel and wife Kimberly of Goldthwaite; 13 grandchildren, Vicky, Emily, Tyler, Haley, Ashley, Jailynne, Lucas, Addison, Aubrey, Bryson, Kaylyn, Stetson, and Callen; her siblings, James W. Ford, Sr. of Brownwood, Elaine Johnston of San Angelo, Deborah Ford of San Angelo, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Wynell was preceded in death by her parents, CJ & Joyce Ford and granddaughter, Lily Carol Sinar.
