The phrase "love and light" often serves as a blessing, a greeting, or a symbol of goodwill. It encapsulates the essence of our mother, Carmen Flores.
Carmen Flores, age 75, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Born on September 18, 1948, Carmen embodied reliability and selflessness throughout her life. From her early years as the dependable granddaughter, daughter, and eldest sister in her family, to her role as a devoted wife to our father, Richard Flores, Sr., she consistently provided unwavering support. As a mother to five children—Richard Jr., Jo, Peter, Michael, and Jessica—she was a steadfast source of love and care.
Jessica aptly described mom as the epitome of selflessness, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Carmen dedicated three decades of her life to serving the San Angelo ISD community from 1985 to 2014, ensuring that students, especially those facing financial difficulties, had access to nourishing meals. Her actions spoke volumes of her boundless love.
Those who crossed paths with Carmen knew her home to be a sanctuary, a place of solace amidst life's challenges. Her radiant smile exuded warmth and comfort, making her a beacon of light for her family and friends.
The passing of Carmen on June 7, 2024, leaves a profound void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
