Noemi Kaye Jansa Hoelscher joined the Choir of Angels with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the age of 76 years.
Noemi was born on October 3, 1947 to Charlie and Olga (Ripple) Jansa in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Rowena in 1965 and attended Angelo State University.
Noemi married the love of her life, Ralph Hoelscher on April 29, 1967 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. They were partners in every aspect of their lives for 57 years, working together and raising their children on their family farm. Noemi loved reading novels, traveling, playing games/crossword puzzles, sewing, cooking for her family, and working with Ralph on his election campaigns.
Noemi is survived by her husband Ralph and children Brian Ray Hoelscher and wife Chrystal of Santa Fe, Texas and Carla Renee Schwartz and husband Curtis of Wall, Texas. She greatly loved her three grandsons, Cade Schwartz, Corey Schwartz and wife Megan, and Kye Schwartz and wife Savannah, all of Wall, Texas. She always had time for them, playing board games for hours. She adored her three great-grandsons, Jace Schwartz, Shay Schwartz, and Dane Schwartz, cherishing every visit. She is also survived by her sister-in-law LaRita Jansa, her niece and Godchild Danielle Halfmann and Darrell, niece Marcie Holtman and Curtis, and nephew Norman Jansa and Dan, along with great nieces and nephews.
Noemi was preceded in death by parents Charlie and Olga Jansa, infant sister Patricia Jansa, brother Daniel Jansa, and in-laws Reynold and Emma Hoelscher.
Noemi was devoted to her faith attending Holy Family Catholic Church in Mereta, Texas and especially enjoyed singing in the church choir. Noemi volunteered for many years to prepare the church for Mass making floral arrangements and seasonal decorations. Noemi and Ralph served as Plates-to-go Chairmen at the St. Ambrose/Holy Family Fall Festival for 37 years. She was a member of the Holy Family Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Catherine of Sienna in Wall, Texas, and was elected to the Holy Family Parish Council.
Noemi was a member of the Extension Homemakers in Veribest and was named 1989 Homemaker of the year. She was also a member of the San Angelo A&M Mother’s Club where she served a term as President and also as Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for many years. She also helped as a 4-H leader, teaching cooking and sewing to youth members.
Noemi enjoyed helping on the Executive Committee of the Tom Green County Republican Party and was elected as Precinct Chairman for Precinct 112 Veribest. Noemi volunteered many hours working on campaigns and phone banks. Noemi was also a member of the Concho Valley Republican Women’s Club. She served as an election clerk and was appointed as the Election Judge for Precinct 112 and the Veribest Vote Center. She was especially proud of her service to work elections for over thirty years.
The Rosary vigil will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena.
Pallbearers for the service will be Cade Schwartz, Corey Schwartz, Kye Schwartz, Norman Jansa, Darrell Halfmann, and Curtis Holtman.
