Suzanne was born to Muriel Betsill and John Woodruff in 1943 and was a lifelong resident of San Angelo. She passed away on May 5th at her home. Suzanne attended ASU, receiving her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. She taught in SAISD for many years. She married Melvin Gray in 1964 and had two beautiful daughter, Vicki Wave and Kristin Elise. Suzanne loved supporting her girls in many activities - never missing a recital, pageant, or gymnastics event. She was a talented artist and gardener, avid reader, animal lover, and MSNBC fanatic. Suzanne was an adventurous and far-flung traveler, but her favorite destination always remained the family trips to Ruidoso. In 2000 Suzanne retired from teaching to start a second career that she excelled at and cherished until her passing: The World's Best and Most Beloved Grammie.
Suzanne is survived by her daughters, Vicki Bingham and Kristi Henry and husband Jason; grandchildren, Stormie Bingham and partner Travis, Ashlie Bingham, Grayson Henry, and Ava Henry; step-father, John Kouvelis; sisters, Deanna Lange and Joni White and husband Richard; brother, Bill Woodruff and wife Janea. Suzanne is also survived by brothers-in-law, Charlie Gray and Rusty Gray; sister-in-law, Karel McManus; and a tribe of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Gray; parents, Muriel and John Woodruff; and brothers-in-law, Jimmie McManus and Carl Lange.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Anderton and his nurse, Sarah, for all of the care and kindness shown over many years.
There will be a private inurnment and celebration of Suzanne's life at a later date.
