Bertha Guerrero, age 89, of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, May 3, 2024. She was born on July 30, 1934, in Del Rio, Texas to Tomasa and Andres Martinez, Sr. She was the youngest of three children and moved with the family to San Angelo at a young age. She attended schools in both Del Rio and San Angelo. She met and married Eusebio Flores and had four children. Bertha took on the role of wife and caretaker very easily, taking care of her children, other children, and her mother as she aged. Her nurturing was also evidenced in her ability to grow plants and take care of animals ranging from cats, dogs, and birds to horses and goats. She loved music, dancing, and cooking, especially during the holiday season making the best tamales in Texas. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and being around people. It was not uncommon for Momo to end her conversations with the words "I love you!" and "Come back to see me."
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, George Guerrero, her mother and father, her sister, Delia Rodriguez, her brother, Andres Martinez, Jr., her infant daughter, Yolanda, her eldest son, Eusebio Flores, Jr., and her friend, Juan Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son, Mario Flores and wife Pam of Denton and her daughter, Yolanda Picon of San Angelo; three granddaughters, Sara Picon of San Angelo, Nicole Flores Clarkson of Brownsville, and Danielle Flores of Arlington; 5 great grandchildren, Alexandria Clarkson, Sydney Michelle Clarkson, Katherine (Katy) Clarkson, Harrison Steward, Spencer Rousseau, and one great, great grandson, Casey Clarkson. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
