Betty Lou (Harry) Taylor passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Monday April 8, 2024 at the age of 88. She was born February 2, 1936 along with her twin sister, to Ernest and Alice Harry. She was born in Enochs, TX and grew up on a farm with her sisters, Sally and Carol. After her father’s death, her mother, along with the girls, moved to Lubbock.
After graduating high school, she attended Texas Tech where she met Weldon Lee Taylor. They fell in love and were married on May 26, 1956. They graduated in 1957.
Mom and Dad moved to Shallowater and then to Midland. Along the way they were blessed with three children: Cindy, Perry and Forrest. Mom and Dad were in the real estate business, with Dad being an appraiser and Mom a realtor.
Betty was a member of the Association of Realtors for over 50 years. She served as President of the Board of Realtors, NAR Director and a member of First Baptist Church. She also served on various boards in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon, her son Forrest and her sisters and their spouses.
She is survived by her children Cindy (Jeff) Harper, her son Perry (Anna) Taylor; her grandchildren J.D. (Ashley) Harper and Cristin (Bryan) Brockman; her great grandchildren Jeffery and GW Harper and Brynlee and Brooklynn Brockman. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mom loved her family dearly.

The family will receive guests from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.
