Myrtle "Roena" McCoulskey, age 93, of San Angelo, Texas left her earthly home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, surrounded by her family and was welcomed into her new home in Heaven to join those that went before her. She was born on October 14, 1930, in Santa Anna, Texas to Roscoe and Bessie McClain. Roena graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1948.
Roena married the love of her life, Norman "Spot" McCoulskey on July 23rd, 1949. They spent close to 63 years together before his passing in March of 2012. In 1970, Roena began working at the San Angelo State School and retired in 1992. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew her as Mimi. Roena had a servants heart and truly enjoyed delivering Meals For The Elderly for many years.
Her family will miss her quirky personality and funny jokes, but most of all her loving heart.
Preceding her in death is her beloved husband, Spot; her parents, her daughter, Kathi, her son, Kevin, 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Kimberley, and 2 son-in-laws, Gary Reeves and Dewey Braddock. Roena was an only child, but she is also preceded in death by a special cousin, Pauline Williams who was like a sister to her.
Roena is survived by her children, Dianne Braddock, Keith McCoulskey, Traci Salvato and husband Charlie, and her grandchild she raised as her own, Tristian McCoulskey and wife Caitlyn; Her grandchildren, Heather Hayes and husband Greg, Ashlee Sayles and husband Trey, Jennifer Braddock, Amy Odell and husband Josh, Scott McCoulskey and wife Dona, Crissie Pierce and husband Bill, Nathan Raines, Chris Salvato and wife Eva, Jeremy Salvato and wife Angie, Skylar Salvato and Caitlan McCoulskey; her great grandchildren, Grayson Hayes, Henlee Hayes, Burke Sayles, Addison Sayles, Khloe Odell, Klaridi "KK" Odell, Alexis McCoulskey, Alan McCoulskey and wife Ramsey, Avery McCoulskey, Rowan, Miles, and Maisie McCoulskey, Eevee Salvato, JaCoty and Jaylon Graves, Liam Pierce, and Maddie, Brantley, and Bella Raines.
The family would like to thank Charlie, Traci, and Skylar for all the care they gave Roena for the last 10 years. They would also like to thank Interim Hospice - Nurse Josh and aide Brittni for their loving care.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Following graveside service will be celebration/slideshow held at Berean Baptist Church in Grape Creek, Texas
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Roena's name to Meals For The Elderly or a charity of your choice.
