Rosie Deloris “Dee” Trull, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, adored sister and friend, went home to the Lord on March 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old at the time of her passing.
Dee was born on November 15, 1938, to Bilbo and Veola Douglas. She graduated from Clarksdale High School in Clarksdale, MS and shortly thereafter married the love of her life, Buddy Trull, on June 15, 1958. Together, Dee and Buddy had three children: Robin, Rhonda, and Randy, whom she loved with all her heart. Many others would consider Dee to be a mother figure in their lives, which was only natural as she was a matriarch at heart who always looked out for the good of everyone. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known as Meems, which was her favorite name.
Dee and her family lived all over the world while Buddy served in the United States Airforce, including Japan, Turkey, and the Philippines. While stationed in Turkey, Dee served as the President for the Protestant Women’s Chapel, helping others to grow in their relationship with the Lord; she carried on this service as a preacher’s wife, lovingly supporting Buddy after he retired from the military and became a Southern Baptist minister. Dee’s faith in Christ was strong and she loved to share the love of God with others.
Dee also worked several jobs throughout her life. Her first was at the Carnegie Public Library in Clarksdale, MS. She also worked as a school secretary for many years at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, TX and at Christoval High School in Christoval, TX, where she would also occasionally drive the school bus. She also worked for a time as a floral designer at Shirley’s Floral in San Angelo, TX. For fun, Dee loved crafting, going to garage sales and other shopping trips with her friends the “Christoval girls,” collecting rocks, reading, and serving as a beautician for the ladies at church. Her favorite way to spend time, though, was with her grandkids who would often come to visit B-Bud and Meems for the entirety of Spring Break and Summer Vacation.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter in law, Mary Jane Trull. She is survived by her husband, Buddy Trull; her brother Bobby Douglas and wife Sue; her children Robin Pearson and husband Randy, Rhonda Trull, and Randy Trull; her grandchildren Matthew Godwin and wife Meggan, Andrew Trull, Jennifer Johnson and husband Justin, Nick Parker and wife Caren, Father Jeremy Trull, Connor Cheney and Brenda Chavez; step-grandchildren Regan Pearson and Katie Hill; and her 12 great-grandchildren.
Dee, who loved flowers and was a shining light in the lives of so many, has requested that bright colors be worn for her service. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service and Celebration of Dee’s life will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 29, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Moore officiating. The burial will follow at Old Christoval Cemetery in Christoval, Texas.
