Juanice Orr passed peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 15, 2024, in San Angelo, Texas surrounded by family, succumbing to several simultaneous conditions that proved too much for her body to continue to manage.Juanice was born Georgia Juanice to George and Della Mae Williams in McCulloch County, Texas on October 16, 1939. She grew up outside Brady and moved to Eldorado when she was around 10 years old.While attending Eldorado High School and working at the family laundromat, she met Charles Orr, and they were married on July 14, 1956.
Juanice and Charles lived in Eldorado, Waco, Big Spring, and Dallas before returning to Eldorado in 1969, where they raised their two children, Kathy, and George.Juanice worked in retail most of her life, including long terms at McCalla’s Variety Store and the Perry Brothers store in Eldorado. She also worked at the Schleicher County Library.
Juanice was always involved in the community, with her crowning achievement being spearheading the project to construct the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel, with her long-time friend and cohort Winona Isaacs.Juanice was preceded in death by her husband Charles, daughter Kathy, parents George and Della Mae Williams, and great-grandson, James Oliver Wilson. She is survived by her son George Orr and wife Andi of San Angelo, granddaughter Samantha Wilson and husband Tyler of Sonora, grandson Wesley Smith of Brady, and great-grandchildren Charleigh Mae Wilson, Linlee Smith, Brydenn Smith, Maverick Rangel, and Zealyn Arguello. She is also survived by her “bonus” son, Bill Clark, to whom her last words were “If I didn’t love you, I would have killed you a long time ago.”

They selflessly provided the empathetic care and servant leadership we needed.
