Billy Charlyn Gloeckler, age 77, of Carlsbad, Texas passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Billy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Padgett; sister, Kathy Under; and daughter-in-law, Melissa Gloeckler.
Billy retired from Magill Elementary after 40 years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed working with children and seeing them thrive over the years. Over her career, Billy got to see hundred of students grow up - some even bringing their own children. Her influence throughout her tenure has no doubt impacted a generation of Magill alumni.
When she wasn't working, Billy loved spending time with her family. She was an incredibly giving and loving person who spared no expense when it came to spoiling her grandchildren. Her loving nature did not stop at her family. Billy was also known for her love of and skill with animals. Whether it was a stray cat outside or a lamb, she loved them all. Billy was particularly adept with chickens. She would hand feed them regularly and even keep one as a "lap chicken" in her home at times.
Billy also enjoyed going on adventures with her significant other, Bennie. The duo traveled to places such as Ruidosa, NM and Windova, NV. They loved going to the casinos and race tracks. Even their smaller adventures were exciting - the two would have a blast scratching lottery tickets at home and go on long walks frequently.
Left to cherish Billy's precious memory are her significant other, Bennie McIntyre; sons, Troy Gloeckler and wife Sandra, and Shane Gloeckler; grandchildren, Trey Gloeckler, John Gloeckler, Logan Gloeckler, Bailey Gloeckler, and Kenley Gloeckler; and great-grandchildren, Breck Stowe and Jace Gloeckler. Also left to cherish Billy's memory are her sister, Janie Henson, and several nieces and nephews.
