Billie Nunley Roenfeldt went to live forever with her heavenly Father on March 6, 2024. She was born November 18, 1930, in Lubbock, Texas, to James Arthur and Mary Effie Nunley.
Billie graduated from Lubbock High School in 1947 and from Wayland Baptist University in 1951.
While at Wayland, she met and fell in love with a young preacher, Glenn Roenfeldt, who became the one true love of her life. They married September 6, 1949.
Billie retired from teaching school after 21 years. Her greatest joy was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and help-meet to her pastor husband. She enjoyed serving in many capacities in the churches Glenn pastored, and then assisting him in chapel services at Baptist Memorial Center where he was Chaplain for 10 years.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, of 53 wonderful years, her parents and her five older siblings. She is survived by her three children, Jerene Cargile (Jim) of Sweetwater, Carla Green (Richard) of Seguin, and Roger Roenfeldt of San Angelo; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who knew Billie as their beloved Meme.
Visitation for Billie will be held from 12-2 pm on Thursday March 14, 2024 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to begin at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
