Reynold Randy Scott, our beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9th, 2024, in Fredericksburg, Texas at the age of 74. Randy, as he was known to those who loved him, was born in San Angelo to parents Virginia and Reynold Scott. As a child, he attended school in San Angelo, graduating from Central High School in 1967, and later from Angelo State University, where he met his wife of 54 years, Margaret, on a blind date. While Randy held a variety of jobs, his primary career was as a telecommunications director with Verizon from which he retired in 2004. His career led to him living in various cities across Texas before retiring to Fredericksburg. His hobbies included working on his vintage cars and tending to his acreage on his beloved backhoe. Randy was an active member of the Fredericksburg Vintage Car Club where he judged at car shows and participated in many tours around the Fredericksburg area as well as the state.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Reynold and Virginia Scott. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughters and their spouses: Robyn and Clay Bonner, and Mindy and Walker England all of Plano; his grandchildren Corbin Bonner, Raylan England, and Charles England who all affectionately knew him as Randad, his sister and her husband Paula and Marlow Wojtek, and his nieces Stacy Coulter and Shannan Martin all of Dallas.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 18,2024 from 3:00-5:00 PM and a funeral service Monday, February 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo followed by interment at Fairmount Cemetery. All friends and family are welcome. The family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
