James Bradley Spring, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, in San Angelo, TX, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 28, 1938, in St. Joseph, MO, to Bob and Wilma Spring.
During his high school years in Uvalde, Texas, Brad immersed himself in various sports, distinguishing himself in football, basketball, and track.
On December 19th, 1969, Brad united in marriage with the love of his life, Linda Murray. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey, building a life filled with shared interests, laughter, and enduring companionship. Brad dedicated much of his professional life to Central Power and Light, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Following retirement, Brad and Linda relocated to San Angelo, where they continued to create cherished memories together.
One of Brad's greatest joys was the time spent participating in antique Rod Runs with Linda, cruising in their beloved 1937 and 1938 Chevys. These classic cars were not merely vehicles; they were vessels for the countless adventures, shared smiles, and the enduring bond between Brad and Linda.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Linda, who stood by his side throughout their journey. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law, Phil Murray (Susanne) of San Angelo, his brother, Doug (Dru Ann) of Uvalde, and his daughter, Melanie (Jeff) of Cypress, TX. His legacy extends to his grandchildren, Hunter Medlin and Kyle Purdy of Houston, TX, as well as his niece, Reagan King (Josh), and nephews Ryan (Sara) and Douglas Spring of San Antonio, TX.
Preceding Brad in death were his parents, Bob and Wilma Spring, and his stepdaughter, Lisa Purdy. Their memories will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service celebrating Brad's life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Glen Meadows Baptist Church, Concho Hearts Hospice, or The Springs Memory Care.
