William “Ariel” Rees, age of 38, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Ariel was born December 3, 1985, in Little Rock, Arkansas to William “Alan” and Virginia (Perkins) Rees. He was homeschooled until 2002, then he got his GED. Ariel grew up in Bartlett, Tennessee until 2011 when he followed his parents to San Angelo, Texas. Ariel enjoyed playing hockey with his team, riding his bike around with neighborhood kids, studying the Bible, and reloading ammunition with his Dad. Ariel had five siblings with one sister-in-law. Rebekah Rees, David Rees and wife Sharon, Sarah Rees, John Rees, and Ben Rees. Ariel met his wife, Sloan Rees at Principal LED back in 2019. They fell in love after dating 3 years and got married on May 21, 2022 in Valera, Texas. They both learned on September 11, 2023 that they were expecting a little girl on their dating anniversary on May 20, 2024.
Ariel attended Southwest Community College in Memphis, Tennessee. Where he got his Paramedic (EMS) license. He really enjoyed his career in working for 911. When he moved to San Angelo, he got his license transferred to Texas, worked in Brownwood and Abilene, Texas. He was a waiter for Applebee’s in San Angelo before he began his full time employment at Principal Sloan. Then in 2020, he began his employment at The Journey Recovery Center (ADACCV) as a Direct Care to follow into managing The Williams House in San Angelo. Wherever Ariel went he always moved up in the company and was well educated. Ariel was very involved in the AA program, enjoyed helping people understand the importance of recovery here in San Angelo, Texas. Ariel was raised up in Christian home and was very fond of RC Sprow, even attended a conference with his Dad to see RC Sprow. He was well educated in politics, and liked to keep up with The National and World News. His main sources were Fox News and Drudge Report. Everywhere Ariel went he never met a stranger and was very well spoken. He was always there to help anyone in need.
Ariel is survived by his wife, Sloan Rees of San Angelo; His children, soon to be, Laramie Rees, step-son Gunner Thurman of Brady, Texas; his parents, William “Alan” and Virginia “Eliane” Rees; his grandmother, June Perkins; his siblings, Rebekah Rees, David Rees, Sarah Rees, John Rees, and Ben Rees; uncles, Bert Lee Perkins and Kenneth A Rees.
Ariel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack W Perkins, John C Rees, and Bess L Rees; and his three uncles, Jack W Perkins, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 1, 2023 at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Harper Funeral Home and 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Stewardson Cemetery.
