Carl Roscoe Brown, Jr., 93, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in San Angelo. Roscoe was born February 21, 1930, in Cross Plains, Texas to Emma C. Warnock and Carl R. Brown. He grew up in Brownwood, Texas and graduated from Brownwood High School. He then attended Howard Payne University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves and United States Army National Guard from 1947 to 1983 retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Roscoe met and later married the love of his life Beulah W. Sparkman on April 11, 1952, in Crawford, Texas. They shared 56 beautiful years together and raised 3 children. Roscoe worked as a Traffic Supervisor for GTE of The Southwest for 43 years. He was a member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church and also served as a scout leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Roscoe was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling and was able to go to England, Ireland, Israel, Australia and most all of the United States. He also loved to mow and maintain his yard, and loved gardening and planting.
Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Emma Brown, his wife, Beulah W. Sparkman Brown and his brothers John W. Brown and Claude A. Brown. He is survived by his children, Carl Brown and his wife Robin, of Wolfforth, TX David Brown, of Shepherd, TX, Carla Brown, of San Angelo, TX; his sister, Tawanah Brown, of Lubbock; 5 grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren; and numerous Nieces and nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 3, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Josh Winters, Cory Hilliard, John Walker, Kevin Fojtasek and Chris Proctor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals for The Elderly. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Justin Jones, Angelo Kidney Connection, Wound Care South, Hospice of San Angelo and Regency House for all of the loving care given to our dad.
