Paul Hash Sr., 91 of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023. He was born in Berwind, West Virginia on February 2, 1932, to John Andrew and Bonnie Davis Hash. Paul grew up in Grundy, Virginia where he graduated from high school. He then joined the Air Force where he served his country for 10 years.
Paul moved to San Angelo where he met his future wife Kathy who, he married in 1984. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Paul loved spending time with this family, reading western novels, watching western movies, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a believer in the Lord and always said “When the good Lord is ready for me, he will tap me on the shoulder.” He was an honest man who was dependable and a man of his word. Paul was a very talented finish carpenter and was particular about his work. He was self-taught and shared his knowledge with his sons and grandson. Paul retired in 2009 and traveled the United States with Kathy until they once again settled back in San Angelo.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his wife Kathy of 39 years; sister Pat Stallard; daughter Susan Simmons (Bobby), son Paul Hash Jr; son Andy Hash (Melissa); daughter Diana Wilkinson; stepson Tony Gibson, stepdaughter Tiffany Lackey (Bobby) and stepson Pat Gibson; many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will have a visitation on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Thompson officiating.
