Luciano David Cano, of San Angelo, beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and cousin passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 68.
He was born on July 11, 1955 to L.D. and Bernice Cano. He was the youngest of four children. His siblings remember him for his mischievous ways. He had a big heart and a quick-witted sense of humor. Family and friends knew and loved him for his ability to light up a room and make you feel at home. He was able to make everyone smile and laugh.
David graduated from Central High School in 1974 where he met and later married Janelle Yates. Together they had two children, Alexander and Adrienne Cano. Their marriage ended in 1980, but they remained close. He was a loving father and his children were the light of his life. He enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors and Harley Davidson motorcycles with his family, friends, and anyone willing to listen.
David was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Bernice Cano, his son Alexander Cano, his brother Alex Cano, and his great-nephew Patryck Garza. David is survived by his daughter, Adrienne Cano of San Angelo; his sisters Lucy (Modesto) Gutierrez of Mansfield and Rose (Eddie) Salcido of San Angelo; six nephews and nieces, and a larger extended family.
A rosary service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 6, 2023, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris Gutierrez, Carlos Gutierrez, Opie Soto, Jerry Perez, Orlando Soto, and Pete Paz.
