Gustav “Gus” Edward Reisner gained his angel wings on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the age of 53. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 11, 1970 to Richard and Sharon Sellers Reisner. Gus graduated from Lake View High School in 1989 and became a lifelong student of ‘Reisner’ University teaching himself how to create, build, and fix anything to help his family and friends in times of need. Gus made his career in technology, owning and operating Sound Choice Audio and Video and, most recently, serving as Commercial AV and Security Supervisor at Power Systems Security for his beloved friend Michael Strain. Gus gave his heart, soul, and talents to anyone in need and always gave his time and talent to family and friends, especially friends in need of a respectable stereo system.
Gus met the love of his life, Angie Chandler, in 1999. They became an inseparable duo and married on August 11, 2002 in Knickerbocker, Texas. They created many wonderful memories, but the most precious one was the birth of their daughter, Presley Paige, on October 3, 2006. He was so excited to welcome Presley into the world that he told Angie his face hurt from smiling. The duo became a trio, and they embraced a life of family, faith, and adventure as one. Nothing was more important in Gus’s heart than his girls; he loved them more than supercross and menudo.
Gus learned his remarkable mechanical abilities from his father, Richard, and his extraordinary creative talents from his mom, Sharon. He and his mom collaborated on a beautiful mural for Presley’s nursery ensuring that she was surrounded by beauty from the minute she was born. One of his last labors of love was passing the mechanical skills learned from his dad, and the fun memories of working with his brother, to his daughter, Presley, through helping her install a custom audio system in her first car. He was so excited that she was old enough to appreciate a sound system that filled the entire trunk just like he and his brother, Randy, did beginning in their teenage years.
Gus treasured his friends and made them a part of his extended family. Everyone said that Gus made you feel special as he used his humor, quick wit, and ability to make anyone laugh to draw you into his large circle of family and friends. He made long-lasting memories with Walter, Josh and Jeremy, Jeff and many others too numerous to name. He loved to laugh about the fun times and remind everyone of their part in the fun. He had an amazing personality that you could not help but share a laugh with his many friends.
Gus is survived by Angie, his loving wife of 21 years, and his precious daughter, Presley Paige. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Sharon (Sellers) Reisner; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Stephanie Reisner, and their children, Brittany, Kaleb, and Jade Reisner. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Margie Chandler; sister-in-law, Laila Chandler; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Lori Chandler, and their children, Georgia and Jackson. He leaves behind a special family of friends David and Evelyn Allen, Josh and Anna Allen, and Jeremy Allen. Finally, Gus is survived by his and Presley’s beloved rescue dog, Smoke.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eric and Lily (Garrett) Sellers; Gustav and Elizabeth (Hooker) Reisner, his father-in-law, Wayland Chandler, and his best friend, Walter Scott.
While Gus cherished all of his relationships, his strongest relationship was the one with God. Gus knew that one day he would be in heaven and lived every day as a testament to his faith. He spent every moment of his life supporting and protecting his family, helping his friends, and ensuring that everyone listened to music as it was meant to be heard- with thumping bass.
