Carol Ann Philipp, 83, of San Angelo, met her son, Chad, in heaven on Saturday, July 15, 2023 after a long illness. Carol Ann was the youngest of seven children born to Anna Bell Hobbs, in Olney, TX on March 13, 1940. She grew up playing basketball, loved sports, was an avid reader, and married the love of her life, Harold Philipp, Sr., on April 15, 1963. They celebrated 60 years of marriage! She was a homemaker and the neighborhood mom and later worked alongside Harold as secretary for San Angelo Acoustics, Inc. Carol loved to host parties and holidays with family and lifelong friends and welcomed all the stray friends who came along.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Harold, Sr., siblings Truman and Maxine Hobbs, her son, Harold, Jr., Chad’s wife, Joni, son, Perry and wife Dee. She loved being Grandma to her 6 grandchildren, Trey, Mahalie (Jonathan) Barnat, Kahlan Philipp, Banks Philipp, Davannah (Ryan) Johnson, Jamie Philipp, and G.G. to her 3 great-granddaughters, Annabelle and Brooklyn Barnat, and Landry Johnson. She will be greatly missed by her brothers- and sisters-in-law and numerous beloved nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Chad, her mother, Anna Bell Perkins, her siblings, Dorothy, Wayne, Johnny, and Faye.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a longtime member, with graveside services at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of San Angelo, St. Paul Lutheran Church of Gillette, Arkansas, or Concho Hearts Hospice of San Angelo.
