Nancy Louise Records Fry passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Nancy was born on January 27, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to William and Leona Records. Her family moved to San Antonio, Texas while Nancy was a teenager, and Nancy attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where she played clarinet in the band, played basketball, and met the love of her life. After graduating high school, she attended Southwest Texas University, where she honed her love for teaching others to read and received her Bachelor of Arts in Education. On August 27,1960, she married her long-time sweetheart, Paul Fry and the couple moved to Galveston, Tx where Paul attended The University of Texas Medical School, and Nancy taught second grade. After Paul’s graduation, the couple lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dallas, Texas, and eventually settled in San Angelo, Texas, where Nancy became involved in the Adult Literacy Council of the Concho Valley and tennis teams, and was "room mom" for her children's classes throughout the years. Nancy loved to play tennis, snow ski, play bridge, watch and discuss movies, advance literacy, cook, bake, garden, and most of all, her family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona Records, and her husband, Paul Fry.
Nancy is survived by her children: Stephen Fry, Susan Wright, Laura Jackson, and John Fry; her grandchildren: Audrey Wright, Rachel Wright, Leah Wright, Nicholas Jackson, Michael Jackson, Payton Fry, Kayla Fry, and Hunter Fry; her siblings: Lillian Howalt, William “Bill” Records, and Bobby records; and her many dear friends and fellow bridge-players.
A Memorial Service to honor Nancy’s abundant, beautiful, giving life will be held at First Christian Church, 29 North Oaks, San Angelo, Texas on June 21, 2023, at 3:30PM.
