Sharon Ann (Hoffman) Camelbeek, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Shannon Hospital, in San Angelo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 26, 1946, in Hudson, NY. She graduated from Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked at Columbia Memorial Hospital in the ER taking care of patients from the Woodstock Concert before moving to El Paso, Texas, where her husband was stationed in the U.S. Army. When she moved to San Angelo, she worked at St. John's Catholic Hospital, Shannon Hospital, and San Angelo State Supported Living Center and was a very loving, compassionate, and caring nurse.
She married her high school sweetheart Louis R. Camelbeek on July 6, 1968. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
She leaves behind her husband, Louis, daughters, Angela Camelbeek (Dan) Thompson, Lynn Bradshaw both of San Angelo, and Brigitte Camelbeek of Catskill, NY, grandchildren Mikel Sparks (Reagan) of Oklahoma, Breanna (James) Thornton and Sean Land all of San Angelo, Donnavan and Damien Camelbeek of Catskill, NY. She is also survived by 3.1 great grandchildren, Emmy Sparks, Presley Thornton and Sylas Sparks, a sister Joanne (John) Marsh of Hudson, NY, sister-in-law Sandy (Steve) Camelbeek of DeRuyter, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Alice Hoffman, sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Paul Szafran, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn and Louis L. Camelbeek, brother-in-law, Steve Camelbeek and great grandson Nathaniel Sparks.
She and Lou visited their hometown at least once a year and enjoyed visiting historical places and the beautiful countryside of Columbia County and New York State. She especially loved all the waterfalls and visiting family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
The rosary will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, at 6:00pm at Harper Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00am at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
