Gary Lee Wilson, 67, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in San Angelo. Gary was born June 29, 1955, in San Angelo Texas, to Hamilton Wilson, Jr. and Billie Scurlock Wilson. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. He then served his country honorably in The United States Navy for 15 years. He worked as a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and retired from there. Gary was a loving son, brother and father who loved his family dearly and loved spending time with them. He was always very cordial to everyone he met and could easily make friends with anyone. Gary had a love of all animals, especially his cats that he cared for during his life. His life and legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him! Gary was preceded in death by his father Hamilton “Ham” Wilson, Jr. He is survived by his mother Billie Wilson, of San Angelo; his daughter, Melanie Wilson, of Lamesa; his son, Josh Wilson and his wife Sharon, of Lubbock, TX; his sisters, Donna Sparks and her husband Jackie, of Mertzon and Sandy Moreland and her husband Al, of San Angelo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Gary at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Angels Home Care and especially Janice Lawson for all the loving care given to Gary.
