Terry Harris was born in Donie, Texas on January 9, 1935, to Alvis and Vera Harris and passed away in April of 2023 in San Angelo, Texas.
Terry graduated from Teague High School and Sam Houston State University with a BS in Biology. Upon Graduation from ROTC, he entered the US Army and served three years being stationed in El Paso, Tx and Buffalo, NY. Terry married his wife of sixty-six years Ann Dunn on August 31, 1956.
Terry had a long and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. He worked for Ayerst Labs and Bristol Myers Squibb as a sales representative and a manager for over 40 years. After his retirement they relocated to Sun City Georgetown, TX where he began volunteering. He enjoyed his time as a Stephen’s minister Lay Leader and a Lay Chaplain at St. David’s Hospital in Georgetown. He also was an ambassador for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. He volunteered with the Georgetown Community Clinic, Backpack Buddies, and the Sun City Emergency Management Committee.
Terry was a kind, loving and soft-spoken man. He always greeted everyone with a smile.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years Ann, sons David (Dana) of San Angelo TX, Steve (Ceil) of Double Oak TX, grandchildren Cade (Kylie) of Centennial Colo, Chase (Caitlyn) of San Angelo TX, Haley (Kris) of Grapevine TX, Cory of Grapevine TX. And great grandson Luke of Grapevine TX. All of whom he loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate nurses and doctors at Shannon Medical Hospital, the staff of St. Johns, the staff at Shannon Home Health, the comfort and support of Hospice of San Angelo, and a very special thanks to his caregiver Dena Stewart for the loving care and support she provided Terry.
