Angelita Jaques passed away peacefully at her residence on February 15, 2023, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 92. She was born April 21, 1930, in Del Rio, Texas.
Angelita met and later married the love of her life Henry Jaques, Sr. on October 28, 1950 and they were married for over 72 years.
Except for a brief period of employment during her early married years, she was a full-time faithful wife and loving mother to her children. She loved to cook, sew, decorate, spend time on her plants and gardening. But most of all she enjoyed her daily bible devotions and time of prayer.
Angelita was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and inspired many people she encountered and along with her husband were long time members of Jerusalem Assembly of God. She left a lasting impact of love and faith with all of those she met and knew over many years. She was the powerful prayer warrior for all her children and grandchildren even to the last weeks of her life. Her servant’s heart touched all those she met, and she always shared reading Psalm 91 as often as she could.
Angelita was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Del Refugio and Elueterio Ruiz and a son, John David Jaques.
She is survived by her husband, the love of her life Henry Jaques, Sr; her children; son, Henry Jacques Jr, wife Donna, her daughter Diana Contreras, husband Lalo, her son, Larry Jacques, wife Rebecca and daughter Iris Jaques, all of San Angelo Texas. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the nursing staff from St Gabriel’s Hospice for all of the loving care given to Angelita.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Harper Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2 pm with Rev. Israel Flores officiating. Both events will be at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, Texas.
She will always be remembered for the constant prayers for all her children and family.
“And Jesus let me go back to her bedside
Give me one more chance to follow You again
'Cause today my soul is cryin' for an answer to the prayers
That ended with my mama's last amen”
lyrics from Mama’s Last Amen, by Willie Winn
