Slade was a life long, active member of the church of Christ. Serving in many capacities including Bible class teacher, youth minister, song leader, and deacon. He was a dedicated, committed, loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. He still worked full time as a Reliability Technician for Enterprise products. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and all of God’s beautiful creation. He enjoyed working the land and with his livestock, was a talented woodworker and carpenter and craftsman. He grew tons of food for his family, whether meat or vegetable. He loved God and was always willing to lend a helping hand. But, what he loved most on this earth was his family. And none more than his grandchildren. Each of us, including every single grandchild has a unique, extraordinary bond with him and are so grateful he was our Pop. He taught us so many things about Christianity and love and hard work and dedication and how to find joy in everything and make the most of every situation. He has left behind a great, truly invaluable legacy we shall strive to honor. He will be sorely missed. Til we meet again. Well done, good and faithful servant.
