Sally Ann Shahan Holladay, 69, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on December 5, 2022, in San Angelo.
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home, on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 10:00am.
Sally was born January 27, 1953, in San Saba, Texas to Ira Wood Shahan and Willie Mae Smith Shahan.
In 1973, she married Lawrence Holladay, who she loved for 49 years. She grew up farming, fishing, ranching, and participating in athletics, which led her to a career of 36 years of coaching in Tom Green County. In 1974, she earned her Secondary English and all level Health & PE certifications from Angelo State University. She spent her first 2 years at Wall High School, then joined San Angelo ISD at Central High School, where she set up and coached the very first girls’ basketball program. After having two girls, she stayed home for a few years, and then returned to coaching, only this time at the elementary level. She retired from San Angelo ISD in 2015 to enjoy time with family and friends on the ranch and in her garden. She loved attending every function possible in which grandchildren were involved, including coaching some of their sporting events. Sally enjoyed playing bunko monthly with some of her dearest friends.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of San Angelo; two daughters Jennifer Murray, and husband, Bartley, of Miles, Dana Felts, and husband, Shawn, of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Kally Murray, Noah Murray, Hudson Felts, and Stockton Felts; one brother Wayne Shahan, and wife Margaret of Mesquite; two sisters, Sue Armstrong, and husband Bill of College Station, Kay Maddox, and husband, Tommy, of Lometa; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ira and Willie Mae Shahan; one sister, Linda Beth Shahan.
A special thanks to the pallbearers; Shawn Felts, Bartley Murray, Ronnie Allen, Tommy Maddox, Doug Waltisperger, and Billy Gassiot.
