Kenneth Dickson, 86, of Miles, Texas laid down his working tools and was called home on November 29,2022.
Born in Hamlin, Texas on June 16, 1936, Kenneth was a loving father, devoted husband, and faithful friend to those who knew him. Since he never met a stranger, you could say he was a friend to all.
After many years with the Tom Green County Road & Bridge Department, he retired but never stopped working. Instead, you would find him at the lodge, at the church, mowing lawns, or watching westerns in his favorite chair.
These last years, he may have lost a step, but not his spirit, his strength, and not his smile. His walk was slowed, but his mind remained sharp and he was happy to share his wit, wisdom, and memories.
Kenneth loved life, loved God, and loved fishing. He could spin a story with the best of them. His favorite fragrance was that of a new Chevy truck, and he was rarely without his spit cup. We wish we had more time to listen to those stories.
He loved his church family as well as that of his lodge. He was deacon of Eola Baptist Church and steadfast in his service to the Lord and his community.
He was awarded his 25 year achievement with the Masons this past March and was an active Master Mason with both Miles and Paint Rock Masonic lodges. He was also active with the San Angelo Suez Shrine.
We will miss his easy smile, his sense of humor, and the arms that hugged us tight.
We loved him very much.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother Jessie Dickson, father Elmer Dickson, brothers Gene, WH and Bob Dickson, and a grandson Shawn Michael Dickson.
Kenneth will be missed dearly by those he left behind, his wife of 59 years, Marie Dickson; his brother Jack Dickson; a son and daughter in law, Kevin and Marcy Dickson; a son Shawn Dickson; a grandson, Preston Dickson; a Granddaughter, Morgan Dickson, along with many nieces and nephews.
