Brenda D. (Bull – Green) Fox, 78, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022 in San Angelo after a long battle with dementia.
Brenda was an RN and worked in the orthopedics department at West Texas Medical Associates for Dr. Burdine, Dr. Wilkinson and Dr. Hughes. She was also a charge nurse at San Angelo Community Hospital. She earned her B.S. in nursing from Angelo State University.
Brenda was an avid reader and developed a love of reading while in Richland Springs. She read every book on the bookshelf in the home of her in laws, Lester and Eugenia Green. Brenda loved to garden, a passion she learned from her parents and the Greens. She especially loved fresh squash and tomatoes. Brenda was a fantastic cook who learned to cook from her mother Burta Lee Bull. Brenda passed on that love of cooking to her children and grandchildren. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday because it brought together family every year. She prided herself on her famous cornbread dressing.
Brenda was also an avid runner and took care of her health. She participated in many fun runs with David and the boys.
In her later years, Brenda retired from nursing and worked in the office at Fox Auto Service on 19th St. in San Angelo which her late husband Harrell Fox owned. She had a real love for her patients and the customers at the shop. She made the shop feel like a family.
Brenda was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo.
Brenda was born April 1944 to Yantis & Burta Lee Bull in Melvin, Texas. She had a sister Bobbie and a brother Dean.
Brenda married David Green of Richland Springs, TX. They had three sons; Bentley, Yantis and Lee. David passed away from lymphoma in 1979. Bentley passed away in 1991.
David and Brenda lived in Austin, TX while he was in the Army. They then lived in Richland Springs where they had a newspaper. They moved to San Angelo in 1968, and to Grape Creek in 1973.
Brenda remarried to Harrell Fox in 1983. They moved to Christoval in 1995. Harrell passed away suddenly in 2003. Brenda then moved back to San Angelo in 2005.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; Yantis & Burta Lee Bull, her sister Bobbie Ward, her brother Dean Bull, her first husband David Green and her second husband Harrell Fox and her oldest son Bentley Green.
Brenda is survived by her sons Yantis Green of San Angelo, Lee Green, and stepdaughter Jeana Owens of San Angelo, her granddaughter Katelynn Albright of Huntsville and grandson Bentley Green. She is also survived by several great granddaughters and grandsons.
Graveside service will be held in Lawnhaven Cemetery, 4989 FM1223 in San Angelo on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022 at 10 a.m.
The family requests memorials be donated to Holy Angels Church, Concho Valley PAWS, or the Friends of the Tom Green County Library.
