Leonel "Leon" Aguero, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022, in San Angelo surrounded by family.
Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Iraan under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Aguero was born September 25, 1942 in Big Lake to Manuel and Juanita Aguero. Leon graduated from Reagan County High School where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. Leon began his oil field career in West Texas working for several companies including GSI Seismograph , Pool Oilfield Co, Strata Well Services and Lantern Petroleum. Leon enjoyed fishing, listening to music, reading the word of God, attending church, watching street outlaws, old western movies and spending time with family. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his three sons, Rodney Aguero of Odessa; Steven Aguero of Temple; Jeff Aguero and wife Jackie of San Angelo; one daughter Kimberly Aguero of Rankin; two brothers, Manuel Aguero, Jr. and wife Vicky of Poteau, Oklahoma; Oscar Aguero and wife Pam of Howe, Oklahoma; two sisters, Joann Garcia and husband Gamaliel of Little River Academy; Edna Ybarra and husband Frank of McCamey, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bobby Lee Aguero; a grandson, Rory Aguero; and a great grandson, Isaiah Aguero.
The family would like to thank Shannon Medical Center, especially Dr. Barkanic, Dr. Borgfeld and all the staff on 6 south.
