Richard Taylor Riley, 73, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2022, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jim Wilkerson under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Riley was born October 2, 1948 in Navasota, the oldest son of Jack Manham and Bessie (Blakely) Riley. Richard has been a lifelong San Angelo area resident. He attended schools in Water Valley and San Angelo. Richard enlisted into the US Army on May 23, 1966 and was honorably discharged on May 22, 1972. He served in the 1st Battalion 41st Infantry 2nd Armed Division out of Ft. Hood Army Base stationed in Korea. Richard married Ida Mae Burch on January 21, 1970, they had two children. Richard worked for Yellow Cab Company for 20 years. Richard like to go fishing and hunting, and he was a Baptist.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Sutton and husband Otis of San Angelo; his son, Rick Riley and wife Rosebel of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters, Patricia Tosney of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Irene Brown of Austin; a brother, Jack Riley and wife Brenda of Burleson; three grandsons, Jack Riley, Colton Sutton, and Adam Sutton; and two granddaughters, Nicola Riley, and Amilia Grace Riley. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John Riley.
The family would like to thank Park Plaza Nursing Home and Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care for Richard these last months.
