Naomi Eba Fout went home to glory August 29, 2022 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernie Fout in 2005.
Naomi was born on August 8, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to Harry and Bessie Eba, the 5th of 6 children. Her father was an itinerant preacher who traveled the country painting signs to support his family. Naomi started school as a child in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and ultimately graduated high school in Portsmouth, Ohio. After high school she made a living by working along side her sister Esther in a shoe factory in Portsmouth. Along with her family, she attended the United Pentecostal Church, where she met Ernie Fout.
Ernie and Naomi married on September 14, 1953. They had 5 children: Mark, John, Dale, Ruth and Kathy. She was the loving grandmother of 6, and doting great-grandmother of 16 children. Along with raising her children Naomi also managed stores for 16 Food Corral Co. in El Paso, TX.
Naomi deeply loved the Lord, and was a faithful churchgoer, playing the piano and organ on Sunday mornings in church when she lived in El Paso.
After they moved to San Angelo, she volunteered as a greeter in church at The Life Church, a task she dearly loved.
As her health declined in the last years, Naomi was surrounded by 3 generations of family who cared for her in every way possible, bringing her joy, laughter, her favorite treats and the very best medical care. We will miss her sense of humor, her joy, her stories, and most of all, her sweet smile.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the 5th floor nursing staff at Shannon Medical Center, the staff of Solaris Hospice, with loving gratitude to her nurse Lindsey and her aide Rebecca.
A visitation will be held for Naomi on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will include Brent Fout, Stephen Reynolds, Rolf Brown, Caylor Corley, Trevor Yates, Curtis Yates, Garrett Yates and Abe Eba.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Diabetes Associations, or a charity of your choice.
