Kara Rachel Butler, 18, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022.
She was brought into this world on March 9, 2004 in San Angelo, Texas. Kara was the daughter of Sam Butler and Robin Butler.
Kara graduated from Wall High School in 2022 and was enrolled at South Plains College in Levelland, TX. She had plans to pursue a degree in radiology which she was very excited about. In high school, Kara was involved in school activities as well as church activities at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She had a big love for working out and staying fit. You could find her at True Fit and Crunch during the day or night. She also stayed busy working at Ultimate Air Trampoline Park. Kara never met a stranger, and her beautiful smile caught many people’s attention. Her natural eye lashes were an envy to her friends and strangers alike. Kara had many different nicknames but most used was “Kara Lou”.
Kara loved hanging out with her many friends. Whether they were listening to music, watching movies, or driving around talking. Those simple times meant the world to her! Kara was intrigued by sunsets. She would take pictures of those sunsets to capture God’s beauty. Kara wasn’t a very good singer, but that didn’t keep her from trying anyway. She would sing loud and proud! Kara’s Bible was her main focus as well as her daily devotional. She recently attended the Teen ACTS Retreat where she embraced furthering her spiritual growth.
Kara’s family shared a unique bond. It was about holiday gatherings where they enjoyed playing board games, hanging out with cousins, and eating strawberries. Those were always great times. Kara Lou’s holiday specialty entree was making deviled eggs, especially the colored ones at Easter. Growing up, Kara could count on her big brother Caleb. Whether he was teaching her about jumping hot wheel cars, wrestling, or recently giving college advice, he was always there for her. They both enjoyed hunting at The Ranch, but somehow PawPaw always allowed her to get the bigger deer!! Sorry Caleb!! There were many summers where Ma taught Kara the gift of sewing. It’s hard to know who enjoyed it more, Kara or Ma. Pa was the first one Kara called when she was in need. He was her right-hand man! Kara loved traveling with PawPaw and Grandma Butler as well as creating works of art in their workshop.
Kara is survived by her mother and best friend, Robin Butler, her father Sam Butler, and loving brother Caleb, and also half-brothers, Justin and Mason Butler; her grandparents Ralph and Ruby Matschek, Robert and Linda Butler, great granddad Arthur Stelley; her Uncles and Aunts, Greg and Janice Matschek, Chris and Tiffany Matschek, Grant and Tammy Matschek, and Thomas Butler, and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Kaylynne.
