Frank Ray Fuentes, 65, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022. Frank was born on October 20, 1956, in San Angelo, TX, to Hortencia “Tina” Garces and Armando Fuentes.
Frank graduated high school in 1974 from Overfelt High School in San Jose, CA. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. America. Frank was skilled in the field of carpentry but served in multiple fields. He worked at Terrill Manufacturing, City of San Angelo Water Department, he also worked for Angelo State University as a groundsman to keep baseball and softball fields ready for play. He spent 7 to 8 years at Ethicon as a wage employee for various departments at the Mueller building. He also temporarily worked as a non-CFC technician. His last job was at Texas Department of Transportation driving multiple trucks to help keep highways safe.
Frank had a straight and blunt personality but would always win you over to share his likes, trials and errors. He loved sharing his love of cooking BBQ every Sunday or at Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday meals. He was compassionate to every stranger, sharing his contagious smile and helping anyone and everyone get through the day with a joke or a story. He lived hard and played hard, and most importantly loved hard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Armando Fuentes, brother Samuel Fuentes, maternal grandparents Felix and Eduvigen Garces, and paternal grandparents, Francisco and Natividad Fuentes.
He is survived by his wife Norma Fuentes, his daughter, Andrea Nichole and husband Patrick Hernandez, his son, Isaiah E. Fuentes and Leydis Rodriguez. He was a proud grandfather to Patrick Kaleb Hernandez and Kinleigh Jewell Hernandez, his brother, Armando Fuentes and his wife Elizabeth, his sister Annabelle Nelson and husband Chad. Frank is also survived by Esther Gutierrez, Mickey and wife Lady Ann Medina, Gloria Medina, Carol Jiminez, Patsy Marquez, Laticia and husband Danny Cruz, Michael and wife Marla Medina, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Concho Hearts Hospice for their gift of taking care of Frank in the last days of his life. He was continuously upheld by the Angels who took care of all his needs; to every aspect of giving him medicine to relieve his pain. He trusted Concho Hearts Hospice and saw the work of the lord in Rene Rendon and his own daughter, Andrea Nichole Hernandez. I would like to end with a true saying my own mother would say to me “May the lord repay you for all that you do for me because I could never repay you”.
