Jimmy Arrington, 63, of San Angelo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born on September 25, 1958, in Roswell, New Mexico to Charles Arrington and Ouida Blackledge. His family moved to San Angelo where he attended San Angelo Central High School. Jimmy worked for Walker Plumbing from 1976 to 2008 and then operated his own company for about 10 years.
There was really nothing Jimmy could not do. He was a talented artist who crafted the most beautiful watercolors and drawings. Jimmy was an innovative builder who could conquer any project. His hobbies included being an incredible swimmer, a dedicated fisherman and an avid outdoorsman. You could almost always find him in his garage, working on a project, even if he only finished about half of them. Those who knew Jimmy would joke that he was as hardheaded as he was talented. A fierce friend, Jimmy would stand with you until the end.
But nothing made Jimmy prouder than being a father. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. One thing they will remember from their childhood is how he never missed an opportunity to watch "The Wizard of Oz" any time it was on. While it might not have made sense to us at the time, one quote resonates now as we remember our dad: "A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others" Jimmy is loved by so many.
Jimmy is survived by his four children, Alison Arrington, Kasey Arrington Lemons, Jamie Pearson, and Nicholas Arrington; his brothers, Charles Arrington and Robert Fairchild; sister, Sherry Tyler; mother, Ouida Blackledge; and grandchildren, Brayden Leverett and Andi Lemons.
