Maria Estela Gonzales, 63, passed away after battling cancer on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Ms. Gonzales was born August 10, 1958 in San Angelo to Presentacion and Tomasa Gonzales. Estela was a lifelong San Angelo resident. She graduated from Wall High School in 1977. She worked for Modal Uniforms, Taco Bell, Chinese Kitchen and Gandy, Inc., retiring in 2020. Estela was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan, was a great pool player, loved listening to music, and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Estela was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Presentacion Gonzales, Jr., and Fred Gonzales.
Estela is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Munoz and Joann Martinez both of San Angelo; a son, Alex Dayao and Lucy of San Angelo; three sisters, Angilina Ramirez and husband Luis, Rosa Bermea both of San Angelo, and Enedina Renaldo and husband Geronimo, Sr. of Denver City; two brothers, Juan Gonzales, and twin brother, Emilio Gonzales and wife Irma both of San Angelo; four grandchildren, David Ray, Leandra, Adrian, and Natalia Saldivar, and her granddaughter she raised, Aalai Dayao; three great-grandchildren, Elaina, Emiliano, and Evalette Saldivar; Her longtime companion, Jose Villareal; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and countless number of friends.
The family would like to extend a a special thank you to Dr. Goen, Dr. Cheruko and staff, Shannon Medical Center 5th floor, San Angelo Nursing &Rehab, and HOSA for the love and care given to Estela.

Those serving as pallbears are, Albert Bermea, Freddy Gonzales, Norbert DeLaGarza, Gabriel Garcia, Alex Dayao, and Ray Montez; and honorary pallbearers are Pete Sandoval, Norberto Gonzales, Robert Bermea, Freddy Biera, and Manny Lopez.
