On May 16, 2022, Olga Zita Eubanks passed away after a battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. A warrior throughout life, she was 77 years old. Zita was born in Toluca Mexico on July 16, 1944. She immigrated to the United States in the 1960s. She met her husband in Fort Bragg, North Carolina while he was serving in the Army. They were married on May 29, 1966, even though they didn’t speak the same language. They had two children together. Zita worked and volunteered for San Angelo ISD for over 36 years. While working for SAISD she was able to touch the many lives of her students and coworkers. Zita always loved her sports and was always physically active; it wasn't uncommon to see her out walking with her dog Nala or dancing like a maniac while doing Zumba at her gym. She was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for over 15 years. She was an active member at Johnson Street Church of Christ. Zita is survived by many loving individuals including her husband of almost 56 years Mickey Eubanks, of San Angelo, her son Mickey Eubanks II of Austin, her daughter Lisa Mitchell of San Angelo, and her granddaughter Amanda Mitchell of San Angelo, as well as many relatives in Mexico and abroad. Zita’s funeral will be held on Saturday May 21, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Johnson’s Street Church of Christ followed by a short graveside service at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
