A small graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday May 19 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger with Rev. Truman Johnson, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Jan was born in Tom Green County, Texas on 22 May 1951 to Nealon Boyd Stovall and Helen E. Stovall. She attended school through the eighth grade and continued her learning at home. Jan worked for the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind in San Angelo. She enjoyed attending Calvary Baptist Church in her younger years and especially enjoyed the choir and worship. Jan spent the later years of her life both living with and nearby her sister Gala and brother-in-law, David Brown in Terrell. Jan was loved by many great nieces and nephews, Mason Patterson, Sawyer Grudzien, Taylor Brown, Amelia McKee, Lauren Brown, Jake McKee, Brayden Gibbons, and Brooklin Gibbons. Each of them having made Jan laugh over the years.
Jan has joined her beloved parents Nealon Boyd Stovall and Helen E. Stovall in heaven and will be watching over her sister, Gala Brown and her husband, David Brown here on earth, as well as her niece, Gina McKee and her husband, Rob McKee and family and nephew, Cory Brown and family.
Jan's family would like to thank the staff at CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital of Tyler for their exemplary care of Jan in her final days.
As Jan's favorite band Alabama sang so beautifully in "Angels Among Us".
"Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with the light of love."
