W.E. "Buddy" Anthony Jr.

Buddy was escorted to the arms of Jesus on May 07, 2022. Born to W.E. Anthony Sr. and Louise Anthony in Miles, TX on October 28, 1943. Buddy attended Christoval schools and graduated from Central High School, in San Angelo. He graduated from Angelo State University with an accounting degree.

Buddy retired from the Texas National Guard and Verizon after many years with GTEDS and he finally worked for Angelo Bolt for 14 years.

Buddy married Diane Gilmore on March 6, 1966. They had two children Brandy McGuire (Dennis) and Weldon Leddy Anthony.

Buddy enjoyed traveling in his RV with Diane, restoring a 1957 Ford Fairlane, but most of all hunting and teaching his grandsons to hunt ethically.

Surviving Buddy is his wife of 56 years Diane, daughter Brandy Lynn McGuire (husband Dennis) and son Weldon Leddy Anthony of Ozona. He is also survived by four grandsons, Dr. Joshua McGuire (Paula), Mason McGuire (Lindsey), Ethan S. Anthony and Jacob W. Anthony. He is also survived by two great grandsons, Killian and Finnian (Josh and Paula) of Lubbock. Also, sister Anita Johnston, husband Larry and their children. Buddy was a lifelong Christian, member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church and especially fond of the Tuesday Men’s Prayer Group.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at Harper Funeral Home at 3:00 PM.
