Michael "Spud" Warren Hale, 36, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, in New Braunfels after a valiant battle against cancer.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Freedom Fellowship Church, 342 S. Chadbourne, with Pastor Howard Watkins, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Hale was born August 29, 1985 in San Angelo to Bill and Lisa Hale. Michael grew up on the banks of the North Concho River swimming and playing with his friend Tell Churchill, where they spent their days in the tree house, shooting BB guns or riding 4 wheelers for hours on end.
Spud and his father spent hundreds of hours playing the video game "Halo" where laughter would erupt over Dad accidentally shooting him. Michael was a big fan of online gaming and attended many BLIZZ Conventions in Anaheim, California. He became an expert shooter with almost any firearm and only missed a few opening days of dove season.
Michael started snow skiing at the age of six and skied several blue runs his first day on the slopes, which led him to start a long tradition of holding his poles straight up above his head after making a great run or bring faster than anyone else. He skied all over the country but Beaver Creek, Colorado was his favorite.
Shooting fireworks on the 4th of July became a passion and Spud's choreographed shows are called by many the best show they had ever seen.
to say Michael had a way with computers would be an understatement. After receiving a degree in Information Technology, he started his working career at Millennial Computers in San Angelo where hundreds of satisfied customers still sing his praise.
At age 34 Spud's parents wondered if he would ever meet someone to share his life with, but then out of nowhere Chelsea showed up and the wondering was over. From the very start they were magic together. She gave him the nickname Mister and he always called her Lady. She became his strongest supporter and his greatest comfort during his battle with cancer. God be praised for giving him Chelsea and all that love his last 2 years of life. Michael married his true love Chelsea Windes on September 30, 2021 in New Braunsfels.
Survivors include his wife, Chelsea of the home; his parents, Bill and Lisa Hale of San Angelo; his sister, Cristin Hubbell and husband Brad of Fresno, California.
