Ezequiel “Zeke” Palma Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 92. He was born on December 7, 1929 in Ranger, TX to the late Antonio Palma and Catalina Rodriguez. He joined the Army at age 18 and received his Paratrooper Wings in 1948. He was in the 11th Air Borne Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
He married the former Angelita Montez of Sweetwater, TX. on October 5, 1952 in San Angelo, Tx, he retired as foreman for the United States Gypsum Co., in Sweetwater, TX. after 37 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard. He was a long time member of Southgate Church of Christ.
Zeke Is survived by his wife Angelita Palma of San Angelo; son Ezequiel Palma Jr. of San Angelo; daughters Sandra Palma Cupp (Scott) of Alpine and Martha Palma Ratliff (Phillip) of Bronte; Sisters Dilia M. Steltzlen (John) of Garland and Velia R Martinez of Abilene; Grandchildren Elizabeth Kim Galloway (Bryan) of Midland, and Phillip David Ratliff Jr. (Heather) of Abilene; Great Grandchildren Mia Merritt of Snyder, Emily and Anna Ratliff of Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio Palma, Catalina Rodriguez and stepfather Cenobio Martinez; brothers, Ruben Palma, Amado Palma, Raul M Rodriguez, Eleazar Martinez, and Adam Martinez; sister, Bertha M. Ybarra.
The Family would like to thank the Springs Memory Care and their staff, and Concho Hearts Hospice for all of their great care.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held and Friday, February 25, 2022.
