Robert Wayne Blake, 83, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022. With his family by his side, he was surrounded by love when he went home to our Heavenly Father.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, 402 Rio Concho Dr., San Angelo, TX with Jay Clatworthy, Chaplain at Shannon Medical Center, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Robert was born and raised in Oakland, California, the son of Ernst Gelling and Naomi Bowman. When Naomi remarried, he and his three brothers were adopted by Fred Blake. He lived most of his adult life in Midland, Texas. After his retirement in April 2018, he moved to San Angelo to be near his family.
Bob served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961, after serving in the National Guard for 16 months. Bob then settled with his young family, in Midland where he was an architectural draftsman, a well respected citizen and a beloved family man.
At one point in his life, Bob was an avid golfer. He had a deep fascination and passion for trains and collected them throughout his life. Hobbies aside, his true passion was his family -they always came first.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Milton Blake.
He leaves his daughters, Pam Blake Jefferson and Debbie Blake Warren and his loving son in law, Doug Warren; four grandchildren, Jessica White and husband Pacer, Christy Lara and husband Henry, Patrick Wayne Warren and wife Haley and Peyton Warren; eight great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Brylynn, Brooklyn, Kourtlynn, Colton, Raelynn, Jackson and Nora Grace; four brothers, Sam Blake and wife Mary, Gene Blake and wife Sue, Fred Blake and wife Sandi, and Ray Blake and wife Linda; as well as a large extended family.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
