H L Turnbow 83 of San Angelo died Monday January 24 at Shannon Hospital.
H L was born July 23, 1938, in San Angelo to Eldon and Zora Frances Turnbow. He retired from San Angelo Fire Department as Captain after thirty-four years of service. He was instructor for Texas A&M, teaching repelling and vertical rescue for several years. One of his favorite pastimes was his annual fishing trips to Lake Amistad with his closet friends, sons, and grandkids.
H L and Dixie spent the last thirty-two years as owners and operators of West Texas Game Feeders. He was a great fabricator and innovator, helping many people in the ranching, hunting and wildlife industries.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Turnbow of San Angelo, two sons Landy Turnbow and wife Margaret of Forney, Leland Turnbow and wife Theresa of San Angelo, grandchildren Landa Pustejovsky and husband Brad, Mitch Daniels, Camille Daniels, Shay Turnbow, Hunter Turnbow and wife Stephanie, Leighton Turnbow, and seven great grandchildren, and one sister Marie Prine of Kerrville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Father-in-law Zeke, and Celia Wayne Harris and one granddaughter Shelby Turnbow.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, son, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at West Texas Game Feeders, San Angelo, Tx.
