Teresa “Terrie” Doherty LeMire, 55, of San Angelo passed away in her home on Monday, January 3, 2022 in San Angelo, Texas following a 21-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Terrie was born January 1, 1967, in Oceanside, California to Scott Doherty and Patricia Berg Doherty. She grew up in Sulphur, Louisiana with her sister Patricia Doherty and graduated from Sulphur High School in 1985. She met the love of her life, Michael David LeMire, Jr. in April 1986 and they were married less than three months later on July 5, 1986 in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. They were both 19 at the time,and would share over 35 amazing years together while raising two children, and living in many different locations due to Mike’s U.S. Army service.
Terrie worked in a number of career fields because of regular relocations until she ultimately took an interest in computers in 2001. She completed an Associate Degree and advanced her career as an IT Specialist with the Air Force at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, the YWCA in EL Paso, Texas, and the Army Air Force Exchange Services at Fort Bliss and Goodfellow AFB, Texas. Terrie and her family have lived at Fort Polk, Louisiana from 1986 to 1989, Cleveland, Ohio from 1990 to 1992, Hohenfels, Germany from 1993 to 1995, Fort Riley (Enterprise), Kansas from 1996 to 2001, Schofield Barracks (Waipahu), Hawaii from 2001 to 2005, Fort Bliss (El Paso), Texas from 2005 to 2019, and San Angelo, Texas from 2019 to 2022.
Her hobbies and interests included horseback riding, music that made her dance, traveling around the country and to tropical destinations, and more recently enjoying the RV life in her new motorhome. Terrie was well known for her straightforward and genuine communication style and her natural ability to both charm and shock people, often at the same time. She was truly a unique woman with an amazing spirit who will be missed by so many.
Terrie was preceded in death by her mother Patricia. She is survived by her loving husband Mike, of San Angelo, her daughter, Rochelle LeMire, of Dallas, Texas, her son, Matthew LeMire, and his wife, Danielle LeMire, their two children and her grandchildren, Amelia Faye and Charlotte Marie of Willow Park, Texas, and her sister Patricia Doherty.
A memorial service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00PM.
